Gaynor Minden Pointe Shoes

opinions on Gaynor Minden pointe shoes?
Ive heard mixed reviews
They are maybe not the best for a first pointe shoe, but they have gotten a lot of bad press from people who do not understand the shoe. Many traditional dancers are not used to the concept because they are very different. I am way too old to have ever worn them, but my daughter has and she loved them. They last a lot longer then any other pointe shoe she had and she didn’t need pads with them. If you get them fit properly, you can get an amazing fit from this shoe. Many teachers think they are not good because you don’t use your feet to break them in. They are already broken in and they stay that way. Just where you want them to be. If you have strong feet, you don’t need to build them up by breaking in your shoe. If your feet are week, then maybe you aren’t really ready for pointe shoes. I suggest you look at their site and talk to people who have worn them not just people who say they are terrible and have never had a pair on. http://www.dancer.com/whygaynorminden.php

The “secret,” of course, is Invisible Elastic, s-t-r-e-t-c-h-y, lace-like material that virtually disappears next to tights. Works for technique slippers, too…. |
